LAUHORNER TRAINING |

On Wednesday January 7, 2004 , Governor Bob Taft signed into law H.B. No. 12 allowing Ohio citizens in good standing to apply for a license to carry a concealed handgun. The legislation contains provisions for reciprocity with other CCW states and the mandatory training is not excessive. Twelve hours is the required course time. The program must include gun handling safety and storage, conflict resolution, understanding justifiable use of force, and, naturally, demonstrated proficiency at live-fire firing. Ohio Concealed Carry / NRA Pistol - Only $80.00 + tax LSI’s 12 hour Ohio Concealed Carry /NRA Pistol training course is a comprehensive program designed to meet and exceed the State of Ohio CCW training requirements. The curriculum includes a complete NRA Basic Pistol course with certification upon successful completion of the program. LSI’s goal is to properly train and educate prospective CCW applicants so that they may become responsible citizens with the opportunity and right to bear arms, making ours one of the safest societies in the world. Our program is designed for all levels of firearms proficiency, from the novice with little or no experience, to the experienced handgunner. -Firearms safety * Women attend free of charge when attending CCW Classes with spouse or significant other. (Pay only for Ammo ). **Women will only be asked to pay (Normal Class Fee less ammo charges) if they choose to receive an Ohio CCW certificate of completion at the end of training. LSI-1 ADVANCED CCW/NRA PERSONAL PROTECTION (Prerequisite CCW/or proof of equivalent instruction) LSI-1 ADVANCED CONCEALED HANDGUN 9CCW) LEVEL 1 CLASS INFO SHEET Class size limited to 10 persons Call for class schedule This class takes CHL (CCW) beyond the basic level. You must have a CHL (CCW) permit to take this class. No exceptions. This is level 1 of a 3 level program to be offered exclusively at Lauhorner’s. Class consists of training on the following matters: Ø Handgun safety review Ø Situational awareness Ø Use of cover and concealment Ø Reloading Techniques Ø Concealment Ø Holster use Ø Gun retention Ø Shooting strong hand and weak hand Ø Shooting multiple targets Ø Low light shooting Things that you will need: Ø Current CCW (CHL) permit Ø Concealment clothing (coat, sweatshirt, jacket, etc) Ø Strong side holster (that fits your particular gun) (no “one size fits all” holsters) Ø Good working firearms (no 22’s) Ø Spare magazines or speed loaders (at least one, bring many as you have) Ø 500 rounds ammunition Ø Eye and ear protection Ø flashlight Ø ………..and be prepared for a good time LSI-2 (prerequisite-LSI1) This class will prepare you mentally and physically for confrontational situations. Judgemental and Advanced tactical applications will be addressed. The course also utilizes the Lasershot advanced skill builder programs as well as the state of the art Lasershot Live Fire System. LSI-3 (prerequisite-LSI2) This class will revolve around team tactics with introduction to transitional training. (Primary/Secondary weapons usage). The Lasershot Live Fire System will be utilized with team participation. Women On Target (Lady Beginners only) Lauhorner Range is the host for this course sponsored by Women On Target and the NRA. It will be a beginner shooting course for Ladies only. This class will be a four hour course, limited to 25 women per session. It will provide hands-on orientation to one specific handgun (.22 caliber revolvers- provided). Most of all it will introduce women to shooting and the exciting shooting sports in a comfortable, non-pressuring manner. We will start the Ladies out on our Lasershot system in the classroom, providing a realistic and safe hands-on shooting experience before they get on the range. Come and join us for a fun time! NRA Introduction to Firearm Safety FIRST (Firearm Instruction, Responsibility and Safety Training) STEPS is the latest addition to the NRA's training Edged Weapon (Available only to Law Enforcement Officers or approved Security Personnel) This eight hour interactive course limited to LE Officers will show you what you need to know to deal with a violent knife attack, and how to effectively use an edged-weapon to defend yourself. This class will stack the odds in your favor and will tremendously reduce your chances of ever being the victim of a knife attack. You will learn how to instantly take control of a knife attack and use your attacker's momentum to your advantage. You will learn how to assess a threat, how to defuse it, or how to escape from it. You will learn how your attitude and a proactive mindset can repel a violent attack. This class will teach the basic elements of a knife attack. You will learn the most effective grips, stances, and strikes with an edged-weapon. You will develop an overall plan for protecting yourself from a knife attack. EDDIE EAGLE PROGRAM FOR KIDS This two hour course will promote safety and protection of children. It is limited to children from Kindergarten age to Third grade. The program teaches four simple rules for kids to remember if they should come upon a firearm in the home or elsewhere. Stop, Dont Touch, Leave the Area, and Tell an Adult. The class is taught with a fun but effective curriculumn involving workbooks, coloring sheets and stickers. We will also be providing a basic Safety overview to include issues concerning fire escape, first aid, and dangerous strangers. YOUTH SHOOTING CLINIC
Lauhorner Presents: "YOUTH SHOOTING WITH A MASTER"
Come join us and learn the first basic steps of Championship Target Shooting skills. You will learn solid safety techniques, both on and off the range, when shooting with a group of people or alone. We at Lauhorner are looking for young men and women who think they would like to be on a world class marksmanship team. Even if you have never shot before but thought it would be kind of neat ------- come join us for this intro offer. This course is going to be fun, packed with lots of information, and a neat experience. Just walking through the doors of this beautiful range will tell you that you are someplace special. The lessons learned today at Lauhorner will last a life time. Mom and Dad this is an investment in your child’s future. Why not let a professional teach them? You can set in----- you are invited. Next you will get to shoot 22 rim fire rifles. These are target rifles and you will be shooting from a bench rest position. We will set aside four hours of range time just for you. It is permissible for parents to take pictures. WHAT TO BRING Summer jacket or long sleeve shirt, hat, and of course a smile, No shorts PLEASE. Lauhorner will take care of everything else. Your instructor is a N.C.A.A. rifle and pistol coach, who has been shooting for more years than he cares to admit. National and world titles but he doesn’t talk about them. What he cares about is training people who have a dream. So What Do You Get For Your Investment Four (4) hours of high powered down to earth safe gun handling skills. Four position shooting will not be offered during this session. If time permits a demonstration may be performed. Each of the classes being offered at Lauhorner will advance toward the highest level of excellence. Note: We are keeping the class size limited to allow more time with each student. NO live ammo will be allowed in the classroom at any time. If you or your child would like more intense training, please give us a call.
