Hunting Game Types in America![]() Everyone knows just how "big" bow hunting is around the U.S. but not everyone knows just what’s hunted. No matter what your favorite wild game of choice is, you’ll find it all right here in the states. From coast to coast, from sea to shining sea—America is the hunting destination of choice by hunters from all around the globe because there’s no other place on earth where excitement lurks around nearly every corner! America is split up into particular regions that are legendary for good hunting but each spot has it’s abundance of prey and if it’s some big game you’re looking for how about moose, elk, antelope, mountain lions or buffalo? It doesn’t get much bigger than that and a couple of these creatures are massive in size. A few places these types of wild game seem to appear in the most would be in the Northwest between Colorado and Washington, extending into Canada. When hunting season hits, the Northwestern states fill with hunters looking for the top trophy to take back home as a memoir. In addition to many creatures that serve as "big game", there are also an abundance of deer, white tails and dozens of varieties virtually all over America at different times of the year. If it’s smaller game you want to hunt for, Colorado may not be the place to find them. The state has played a yo-yo numbers game with deer numbers for the past few years and no one knows what to expect out of the season this year. Not even espnoutdoors.com would comment on the expected numbers this year. Even if there may not be many deer in Colorado, the Central and South-central states do have them in abundance. In parts of Kentucky, Tennesee, Ohio, and The Carolinas, all the way down to Alabama the numbers are looking rather healthy for the deer population this 2005-2006 season. No matter where or what you decide to hunt this year, make your sure that you’re up to date with local regulation and that you have the correct licenses you need to stay out of trouble and in harmony with good ole mother nature. Take care of her, thank her, clean up after yourself and bring home some big or some small prizes this year. Happy huntin’!
